WEST 프로그램 참가로 4개월간 머물렀습니다. 외국에 나와본게 처음인데 이 집에 오길 잘했다는 생각이 들었습니다. 집주인 둘 다 깔끔한 성격이라 집은 항상 깔끔하고 착하고 유머러스합니다.
저녁마다 집에서 만드는 다른 여러나라 요리들 먹으면서 얘기도 나누고 식사후에 거실 소파에 앉아서 도란도란 대화하는 게 가장 좋았던 점 이었습니다. 처음에 왔을 때 밖에서 사먹는 미국음식이 입에 안맞아서 고생했는데 집에서 먹는 저녁은 맛있고 잘 나와서 같이 온 동기들한테 자랑까지 했습니다. 100년 된 그랜드피아노가 거실에 있는데 Andrew는 음악선생님이고 Arif도 피아노를 칠 줄 알아서 연주도 들을 수 있습니다.
종종 피크닉도 다닙니다. 뮤직페스티벌이 있을 때 밀레니엄파크에 갔던 것과 Arif의 가족이 운영하는 Indiana에 있는 농장에도 구경갔던게 기억에 남습니다.
자전거도 학생들마다 하나씩 나눠주는데 그거 타고 동네도 구경하거나 기분전환하기 좋습니다.
세탁기랑 건조기가 있어서 빨래도 편하고 액체세제랑 종이세제도 그냥 쓸수 있어서 편했습니다.
저는 시카고에 3~4개월 정도 머물다가 다른곳으로 옮길 생각으로 왔고 난생 처음으로 홈스테이 해보는건데 잘 구한거 같아서 다른 곳은 여기보다 안 좋을까 걱정되어서
옮기기 싫다는 생각까지 들기도 했습니다.?
